Bridges

Trelissick Park has 7 bridges crossing the 2 major streams in the park. The bridges are numbered 1 to 7 going downstream. There has been a number of major changes over the years, but currently 5 of the bridges are in the Korimako Stream valley and 2 are in the Kaiwharawhara Stream valley.

Bridge 1 was completed in 2002 and bridges 2, 3, 4 and 5 in 2006, opening up access to the Korimako Stream valley. Bridges 3 and 4 have since been replaced. Bridge 6 has been there the longest, but has been rebuilt on several occasions. Bridge 7 was completed in 2020.

There is one other bridge in the park, near the historic magazines. This is a KiwiRail emergency bridge and is closed to public access. It was open for many years, allowing access to a portion of Trelissick Park for native plant restoration, weed removal and predator control.
